Express Entry Latest Draw March 23, 2023 ~ Cut-Off Score Dropped to 484

By 23 March 2023April 8th, 2024No Comments

IRCC has just invited candidates to the ninth Express Entry draw of 2023. On March 23, 2023, Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 7,000 invitations to apply (ITAs) to individuals in the Express Entry Latest Draw (all-program), with a minimum CRS score of 484. The draw size ties the largest-ever all-program draw on March 15, 2023.

Candidates from the Express Entry programs, including the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class, are considered in this all-program draw.

The previous record-high all-program draw came when IRCC invited 5,500 candidates on January 18. The draw is unexpected because it is the second week in a row that IRCC has invited Express Entry candidates. Normally, Express Entry draws occur bi-weekly. The 7,000 ITAs make up the second-biggest Express Entry draw ever after only the record-breaking CEC-Only Draw in February 2021.

Multi-year PNP Levels Plan

Provincial immigration ministers recently gathered as part of the Forum of Ministers Responsible for Immigration (FMRI) to discuss shared concerns and strategies for bringing in and keeping more immigrants.

One outcome of the meeting was to endorse the first multi-year provincial immigration plan. This will function similarly to the three-year immigration targets set forth by the federal Immigration Levels Plan. The provinces may now plan for housing, and infrastructure needs to accommodate better and keep newcomers because they will know their distribution of provincial nominations in advance.

After the meeting, some provinces have declared an increase in PNP allocations for this year over 2022. For instance, the allotment for Ontario, the largest province in Canada, will increase to 18,000 in 2025.

Saskatchewan will receive an allocation of 7,250 candidates in 2023, rising to 8,500 in 2025, while Manitoba’s allotment for 2023 has increased by 3,175 places over 2022 to 9,500.

Alberta will also experience a notable boost in allocations for 2023, going from 6,500 spaces in 2022 to 9,750 places in 2023. Like Saskatchewan, allocations will continue to climb over the next two years and go as high as 10,849 by 2025. Data on the anticipated number of PNP allocations for other provinces have not been made public.

5 Ways to Improve Low CRS in 2023?

Here are the five options to immigrate to Canada with a low CRS score in 2023.

1. Provincial Nomination (PNP)

Getting a provincial nomination will raise an express entry candidate’s chances of getting an ITA (a process known as an enhanced nomination). Being nominated by a province as an Express Entry candidate instantly adds 600 points to a CRS score, guaranteeing the individual will acquire an ITA for permanent residence.

2. LMIA Job Offer

An LMIA Employment Offer is the quickest route to enter Canada. If applicants have a job offer from a Canadian employer supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment, they may immigrate to Canada with a work permit. Once they gain enough experience, candidates can increase their Low CRS Score and apply for permanent residency.

3. Get a Study Permit and PGWP in Canada

Canada Study Permit Visa is an easy way to enter Canada as a student. Many applicants who don’t have enough CRS points choose the Study Permit to PR pathway. After gaining sufficient experience in Canada, they can apply for a post-graduate work permit and PR through CEC Express Entry.

4. Visitor Visa to Work Permit in Canada

When in Canada with a visiting visa, applicants can hunt for employment. However, a work permit can only be offered by a Canadian company who is qualified. They can also find employment in Canada with the aid of their friends, relatives, or other connections.

5. French Language

The most recent Canada Immigration Levels Plan 2023–2025 includes a proportion for Francophone immigration of more than 4%, according to IRCC. Candidates who excel at the French language can gain up to 50 points for their profile by doing this. Nonetheless, people with a respectable score between 450 and 470 can benefit from this.
